An MLO (Mortgage Loan Originator) license is required by Arizona state law for anyone who takes residential mortgage loan applications or negotiates residential mortgage loan terms in Arizona. This requirement is mandated by the SAFE Act and the Arizona Department of Financial Institutions. 

This license is required of a natural person who for compensation or gain or in the expectation of compensation or gain does any of the following: (a)Takes a residential mortgage loan application. (b)Offers or negotiates terms of a residential mortgage loan. (c)On behalf of a borrower, negotiates with a lender or note holder to obtain temporary or permanent modification in an existing residential mortgage loan agreement.

AZ MLO Pre-Licensure Education: Completion of 24 hours of an NMLS approved pre-licensure education course, of which a minimum of 4 hours shall cover the provisions of Arizona Laws and Rules.  The 24hourEDU course includes all of these hours for individuals looking to earn their Arizona mortgage loan originator license.
